6 mm 3D mesh comfort pad for compatible Zentauron plate carriers, designed to improve cushioning, airflow, and pressure distribution between the carrier and the body.
The Zentauron Vulcan Modular Padding is an optional comfort upgrade for selected Vulcan-series plate carriers.
Its shape follows the general contour of a SAPI-style plate bag and attaches to the body-facing side of the carrier using two hook-and-loop surfaces.
The 6 mm 3D mesh construction creates additional spacing between the plate carrier and the body, helping improve ventilation while adding another layer of cushioning behind the armor system.
Made in Germany.
6mm 3D Mesh Padding
The pad is constructed from approximately:
0.24 in / 6 mm thick 3D mesh
The three-dimensional structure provides a combination of cushioning and airflow rather than using a completely solid foam layer.
This can help:
- Distribute pressure across a larger area
- Improve comfort under loaded carriers
- Create additional airflow behind the plate bag
- Reduce direct contact between carrier and clothing
- Improve moisture management during extended wear
Improved Air Circulation
The open structure of the 3D mesh allows air to move through the material.
This can help reduce heat buildup between the carrier and torso and support evaporation of moisture during active use.
It does not eliminate heat or perspiration, but it can improve comfort compared with a completely flat body-side surface.
Additional Cushioning Behind the Carrier
The pad creates a softer interface between the plate carrier and the wearer.
This may help reduce localized pressure and soften minor impacts or movement-related contact between the carrier and body.
It should not be treated as ballistic trauma protection or as a substitute for certified trauma pads or armor components.
SAPI-Style Shape
The outline follows the general shape of a SAPI-format plate bag.
This helps the pad sit behind the armor area without extending significantly beyond the carrier profile.
Approximate dimensions:
9.8 × 12.0 in / 25 × 30.5 cm
Hook-and-Loop Installation
Two hook-and-loop attachment areas secure the pad to the body-facing side of compatible plate carriers.
This allows the pad to be:
- Installed when additional comfort is desired
- Removed when a lower-profile setup is preferred
- Repositioned as needed
No permanent modification to the carrier is required.
Compatible Zentauron Plate Carriers
According to Zentauron, the Modular Padding is compatible with:
- Vulcan II Plate Carrier
- Vulcan III Plate Carrier
- Vulcan Minimal Plate Carrier
- Vulcan Minimal High-Vis Plate Carrier
- LC / Laser-Cut Plate Carrier
Compatibility with other carriers is not specified and depends on available internal hook-and-loop surfaces and plate-bag dimensions.

Included
- 1 × Zentauron Vulcan Modular Padding
Plate carrier, armor plates, soft armor, trauma pads, and other accessories are not included.
Compatibility Note
The pad is designed around selected Zentauron carrier interiors and requires compatible hook-and-loop attachment areas.
Because the padding adds approximately 6 mm of thickness, it can slightly change how closely the carrier sits against the body.
Protection Notice
The Vulcan Modular Padding is a comfort accessory only.
It is not ballistic armor, does not carry a ballistic protection rating, and should not be described as providing certified protection against blunt trauma, bullets, or fragmentation.
Mission Frontline Take
This is a comfort upgrade rather than a tactical necessity, but it becomes much more relevant once a carrier is worn for extended periods.
The 6 mm 3D mesh creates both cushioning and separation from the body, which can make a noticeable difference when the carrier is loaded with armor and equipment.
The tradeoff is a small increase in thickness. Users prioritizing the lowest possible profile may prefer to run the carrier without it, while users wearing the Vulcan for longer periods may find the added ventilation and pressure distribution worthwhile.
For Vulcan II, Vulcan III, and Vulcan Minimal users looking for a simple way to improve body-side comfort, this is the dedicated German-made modular padding solution.
