Purpose-built split-front chest rig designed for extended field use with backpacks and heavy equipment.
The Zentauron Non Modular Split Front Chest Rig is a field-oriented load-bearing system developed with a strong focus on rucksack compatibility, accessibility, and practical equipment organization.
Its split-front construction allows the rig to open through a large center zipper, making it easier to put on and remove and allowing the wearer to open the front while seated, working around equipment, or operating from vehicles.
The center zipper is additionally secured with a G-Hook, providing a secondary retention point during movement.
The integrated pouch layout keeps essential equipment close to the body without requiring a complete MOLLE pouch setup from scratch.
Made in Germany.
Split-Front Design
The large center zipper divides the chest rig into two sections and provides quick access when the rig needs to be opened.
A secondary G-Hook helps secure the front during use.
The split configuration is particularly useful when:
- Wearing large rucksacks
- Operating from vehicles
- Working in seated or prone positions
- Frequently putting the rig on and removing it
- Using equipment that makes conventional one-piece chest rigs cumbersome
Integrated Magazine Pouches
The chest rig features four double magazine pouches designed to accommodate a broad range of common rifle-magazine formats.
Compatible formats can include:
- G36
- G3
- G28
- AK-47
- AK-74
- 5.56 NATO / STANAG magazines
- Similar-sized rifle magazines
The magazine pouches feature adjustable and removable hook-and-loop flaps, allowing the retention setup to be adapted to different magazine types.
Additional MOLLE/PALS webbing is located on the front and sides of the magazine pouches for attaching smaller accessories.
Additional Storage
Behind the double magazine pouches are additional hook-and-loop-backed compartments that provide extra configuration options.
Side utility pouches can accommodate items such as:
- Water bottles
- Small field equipment
- Medical supplies
- Navigation equipment
- General utility gear
The side-pouch flaps are adjustable or removable depending on the required setup.
Additional rear-access storage compartments are positioned behind the main body of the rig and secured with large hook-and-loop areas.
These compartments can be used for equipment such as:
- Handheld radios
- Zentauron hook-and-loop magazine inserts
- Hook-and-loop pistol holsters
- Flat utility equipment
MOLLE / PALS Expansion
Although the core pouch layout is integrated into the rig, additional MOLLE/PALS attachment areas provide space for further equipment.
Available attachment areas include:
- Front of magazine pouches
- Sides of magazine pouches
- Utility-pouch areas
- Multislot attachment points
This allows smaller pouches and accessories to be added without losing the streamlined fixed-pouch configuration.

Mission Frontline Take
The main reason we like this chest rig is that it was clearly designed around carrying equipment while also wearing a serious rucksack.
Traditional heavily padded or bulky chest rigs can become uncomfortable once shoulder straps and a hip belt are added. The relatively streamlined construction and split-front layout make the Zentauron rig much easier to integrate into a full field load.
The fixed magazine and utility layout also has an advantage: you don't need to build the entire rig pouch by pouch before it becomes useful.
At the same time, Zentauron leaves enough MOLLE and hook-and-loop expansion space to customize the setup where it actually matters.
For extended field use, reconnaissance-oriented setups, rucksack-heavy configurations, or users who prefer an integrated chest rig over a fully modular blank platform, this is a very well thought-out German-made option.
