Lightweight cold-weather protection built for demanding conditions.
The Lightweight Insulated Jacket combines weather protection, low-bulk insulation, and professional field-oriented features in a lightweight cold-weather package.
A waterproof and breathable ePTFE membrane works together with DuPont™ Sorona® Aura insulation to provide protection against wind, precipitation, and cold without the bulk of a traditional heavy winter parka.
The durable nylon outer shell is designed to block wind and moisture while allowing excess body heat and moisture to escape during activity.
An integrated helmet-compatible hood provides additional protection in deteriorating weather conditions and can be completely stowed inside the collar when not required.
For static periods and cold-weather use, two large fleece-lined hand pockets provide additional warmth, while multiple internal and arm pockets keep essential equipment organized and accessible.
The outer fabric also features an IRR treatment designed to reduce infrared reflectance, making the jacket particularly suitable for military-oriented and professional applications.

Mission Frontline Take
This jacket is an interesting option for anyone who wants insulation and weather protection in one relatively lightweight layer.
The Sorona® Aura insulation keeps the bulk manageable, while the ePTFE membrane adds a level of wind and moisture protection you normally wouldn't get from a conventional insulated midlayer.
We particularly like the stowable helmet-compatible hood. It gives you proper weather coverage when needed but disappears into the collar when you're running the jacket under equipment or simply don't need it.
The fleece-lined hand pockets are another small feature that makes a noticeable difference during static periods in cold weather.
For us, the combination of German Flecktarn, IRR treatment, weather protection, and low-bulk insulation makes this a particularly interesting cold-weather layer for field use, training, outdoor work, and military-oriented applications.
There is one obvious tradeoff: this is a factory-second item. Minor cosmetic or manufacturing imperfections should be expected. If you need a cosmetically perfect jacket, this isn't the right option. If function matters more than perfect finishing, it offers a lot of technical capability for the money.
