Traditional German combat-boot construction built for durability, stability, and extended wear.
The German BW Combat Boot Model 2000 is a rugged leather field boot designed for demanding military-style, duty, outdoor, and work applications.
For U.S. buyers comparing traditional German military boots, the Model 2000 represents the heavier, all-leather approach rather than a lightweight modern tactical boot.
The upper is constructed from 1.6–1.8 mm full-grain embossed cowhide leather, providing a durable and supportive structure designed to withstand hard use. A padded leather tongue and padded collar improve comfort around the ankle while maintaining the substantial feel expected from a traditional combat boot.
The cemented and stitched construction adds stability, while a flexible expansion section around the ankle supports natural movement during walking, climbing, and extended periods on foot.
Inside, a combination of leather and PU lining works together with a removable PU/EVA cushioned footbed to provide shock absorption and support during long periods of wear.
A rugged tread outsole provides reliable traction and is designed to resist slipping and exposure to oil.

Mission Frontline Take
The Model 2000 is a very different boot from today's lightweight tactical footwear.
This is a substantial, traditional leather combat boot built around durability, support, and long-term wear rather than minimum weight.
The thick leather upper, heavily cushioned footbed, and structured outsole make it particularly well suited for field use, outdoor work, security applications, rough terrain, training, and anyone who prefers the feel of a classic European military boot.
What we like most is the straightforward construction. There is very little here that exists purely for marketing — it's leather, cushioning, solid lacing hardware, and a rugged outsole.
At roughly 3.6 lb per pair, it is noticeably heavier than modern lightweight tactical boots. That's the tradeoff. If you want the lightest possible footwear, this isn't it. If you prioritize durability, structure, and classic combat-boot construction, the Model 2000 makes a lot more sense.
Keep in mind: this boot is not described as membrane-waterproof. Proper leather care can improve resistance to moisture, but if fully waterproof construction is a priority, we would recommend a GORE-TEX® or membrane-equipped boot instead.
