Built around a straightforward field-oriented layout, the pack features padded adjustable shoulder straps, a removable waist belt, external utility pockets, and a reinforced moisture-resistant base.

The main compartment provides enough space for everyday field gear, clothing, food, or camping equipment, while two external side pockets keep frequently used items within easy reach.

Behind each side pocket is an additional full-height slip compartment, providing extra storage for flat or elongated items.

A flat external compartment is also integrated into the pack and can be used for items such as a folding sleeping mat, documents, or other low-profile equipment.

This pack is appealing because it keeps the classic Bundeswehr mountain-rugged design without turning it into an oversized expedition rucksack.

At around 30 liters, it is much better suited to day trips, short field use, bushcraft, vehicle kits, range days, or carrying basic outdoor equipment than the larger 70- or 100-liter packs.

The cotton construction also gives it a much more traditional military feel than modern all-nylon tactical backpacks.

We especially like the storage layout. The two external side pockets plus the additional slip compartments behind them give you several ways to organize gear without adding a complicated internal pocket system.

The reinforced PVC sections are useful in areas most likely to come into contact with wet ground or weather.
