Genuine German military sleeping mat with thick closed-cell foam construction.
This original German Bundeswehr sleeping pad is a simple, durable field solution designed to provide insulation and separation from cold, damp, and uneven ground.
Unlike lightweight folding mats, this version uses approximately 13 mm / 0.5 in of closed-cell polyethylene foam, providing noticeably more cushioning and ground insulation while remaining lightweight.
The closed-cell foam construction is highly resistant to moisture and does not rely on air chambers or valves, eliminating common failure points found in inflatable sleeping pads.
When not in use, the mat simply rolls up and is secured with the integrated elastic retaining strap for transport or storage.

Mission Frontline Take
This is classic military sleeping gear: simple, light, and extremely difficult to break.
There is nothing to inflate, no valve to damage, and no complicated construction. Unroll it, put it on the ground, and it is ready to use.
The 13 mm thickness is the main reason we like this version. It provides noticeably more cushioning than ultra-thin military-style mats while still weighing less than a pound.
For field camps, bushcraft, vehicle kits, festivals, or as a dependable backup sleeping pad, the uncomplicated closed-cell construction makes a lot of sense.
The tradeoff is pack size. Because it rolls rather than compresses, it takes up more external space than an inflatable pad. If minimum packed volume is the priority, an inflatable system will be smaller. If you value reliability and zero setup, this Bundeswehr mat is hard to beat.
