Ballistic Wing Covers

Pair of hook-and-loop-mounted side armor covers designed to extend compatible plate-carrier setups with optional soft ballistic inserts while preserving mobility and MOLLE expansion capability.

The Zentauron Ballistic Wing Covers are designed to add side and flank coverage to compatible plate carriers without requiring a completely different carrier system.

The covers attach by hook-and-loop and are worn along the sides of the torso. When equipped with compatible ballistic inserts, they can extend the protective area beyond the front and rear armor panels of the plate carrier.

Integrated MOLLE/PALS webbing allows additional equipment to remain mounted on the side of the carrier.

Designed for Additional Side Coverage

Conventional plate carriers primarily concentrate armor coverage on the front and rear of the torso.

The Ballistic Wing Covers are intended to create additional space for compatible soft armor along the sides.

Depending on the complete armor configuration, this can help extend coverage toward areas that are not protected by the main front and rear plates.

The covers themselves are not ballistic armor and provide no ballistic protection without the appropriate inserts.

Compatible with Optional Soft Armor

The wing covers are designed to accept compatible ballistic inserts.

According to Zentauron, they can be configured with compatible VPAM 3 soft ballistic inserts, including suitable abdominal-ballistic components depending on the system configuration.

The covers are also available separately or, depending on the offered configuration, together with compatible soft armor as a set.

Ballistic inserts are not included unless specifically stated.

Hook-and-Loop Plate Carrier Integration

The wing covers attach to compatible carrier systems using hook-and-loop interfaces.

This allows them to be installed or removed relatively quickly without permanently modifying the carrier.

The system can therefore be used to adapt the protective configuration depending on mission requirements.

MOLLE / PALS Expansion

External MOLLE/PALS webbing allows additional compatible equipment to be mounted directly to the Ballistic Wing Covers.

Possible accessories include:

• Other compact MOLLE/PALS equipment

This helps preserve useful equipment space even when additional side armor is installed.

Designed for Mobility

The wing concept is intended to add coverage without turning the entire side section of the carrier into a rigid armor structure.

Using flexible soft armor inserts can allow the system to follow body movement more naturally than larger rigid side plates.

Important Ballistic Protection Notice

The Zentauron Ballistic Wing Covers are textile carriers only.

They do not provide ballistic protection by themselves.

Protection depends entirely on the installed ballistic inserts, their certified protection level, correct sizing, condition, placement, and compatibility with the complete carrier system.

A complete setup should always be configured in accordance with the requirements and certification of the ballistic inserts being used.

Mission Frontline Take

The main purpose of these wings is to address one of the limitations of minimalist plate carriers: front and rear plates leave the sides comparatively open.

Instead of moving immediately to a much bulkier full-coverage armor vest, the Wing Covers provide a modular way to add compatible soft armor along the flanks.

The MOLLE surface is also important because adding armor does not automatically mean giving up equipment space on the cummerbund area.

The tradeoff is straightforward: more armor coverage generally means more weight, heat, and bulk. The wing concept keeps that compromise relatively flexible because the covers can be added or removed according to the required configuration.

For users already running a compatible Zentauron or military plate carrier and wanting the option to extend soft-armor coverage along the sides without replacing the entire carrier, the Ballistic Wing Covers are a logical modular upgrade.
