Modular plate carrier dangler pouch combining 1.8 liters of quick-access utility storage with a separate rear compartment for compatible lower-abdomen soft armor.
The Zentauron Ballistic Dangler Pouch combines the functionality of a compact waist-style utility pouch with the option to add soft ballistic coverage below the front plate carrier.
The pouch attaches underneath the front plate bag using a large hook-and-loop interface and provides two separate zippered compartments: a general-purpose equipment compartment and a dedicated rear compartment for compatible soft ballistic inserts.
Without armor installed, the rear compartment can also be used for flat equipment such as documents or identification.
Made in Germany.
1.8-Liter Quick-Access Main Compartment
The primary compartment provides approximately:
1.8 L / 110 cu in
of storage for equipment that needs to remain immediately accessible.
Typical contents can include:
- Gloves
- Medical accessories
- Batteries
- Small electronics
- Navigation equipment
- Compact tools
- Personal items
- Other mission-essential gear
Its position directly beneath the front plate bag makes the pouch easy to reach with either hand.
Modular Internal Organization
The body-side interior of the main compartment is lined with loop fabric.
This allows compatible hook-backed organizer modules to be added according to the user's equipment setup.
Possible additions include:
- Elastic equipment holders
- Organizer inserts
- Hook-backed utility modules
- Other compatible internal accessories
Two additional elastic retention loops are sewn into the inside of the lid for compact equipment.
Separate Soft Armor Compartment
A second rear compartment is designed to accept compatible soft ballistic inserts for additional coverage of the lower abdomen.
According to Zentauron's system concept, compatible inserts may include VPAM 3+ configurations and other appropriately sized ballistic inserts.
Because NIJ and VPAM protection classes are different rating systems, the exact protection level should always be verified against the specific insert supplied or selected.
Ballistic insert is not included unless specifically stated.
Lower-Abdomen Coverage
When equipped with a compatible certified soft armor insert, the pouch can extend the protective area below the front plate.
This can provide additional coverage around the lower abdominal region that is normally outside the primary plate area.
The pouch itself does not provide ballistic protection without an appropriate insert.
Flat Storage Without Armor
If the ballistic compartment is not being used for armor, it can serve as a separate flat storage area.
Suitable contents can include:
- Identification documents
- Maps
- Notes
- Flat medical items
- Other slim equipment
This keeps the compartment useful even in non-ballistic configurations.
Dual Zipper Compartments
Both compartments use zippered access.
Rubber zipper pulls improve grip and allow the pouch to be operated more easily while wearing gloves.
Exterior MOLLE / Elastic Platform
The outside of the lid combines MOLLE attachment loops with elastic retention capability.
Compatible small accessories can be mounted directly to the pouch, including:
- Tourniquet pouch
- Compact medical pouch
- Small utility pouch
- Other MOLLE/PALS accessories
Included Shock-Cord Retention
Four attachment loops can also be used with the included shock cord.
The approximately:
23.6 in / 60 cm shock cord
and included cord lock allow suitable equipment to be secured externally.
This can be useful for quickly accessible items such as:
- Tourniquets
- Gloves
- Compact equipment
- Similar lightweight accessories
Front Identification Panel
A hook-and-loop field measuring approximately:
3.9 × 2.0 in / 10 × 5 cm
provides space for:
- Medical patches
- ID patches
- Equipment labels
- Unit markings
- Other hook-backed identifiers
Hook-and-Loop Plate Carrier Mounting
The pouch attaches underneath the front plate bag using a large hook-and-loop panel.
This style of mounting is commonly referred to as a dangler pouch configuration in the U.S. tactical market.
It provides additional storage without consuming the primary MOLLE field on the front of the carrier.
Broad Plate Carrier Compatibility
According to Zentauron, the pouch is compatible with:
- Zentauron plate carriers
- Zentauron protective vests
- Other carrier systems with a suitable front hook-and-loop interface
Exact third-party compatibility depends on the dimensions and location of the carrier's loop and hook surfaces.

Ballistic Protection Notice
The Zentauron Ballistic Dangler Pouch is a textile armor carrier only.
It provides no ballistic protection by itself.
Protection depends entirely on the certified insert installed in the rear compartment, including its protection level, dimensions, condition, placement, and compatibility with the complete armor system.
NIJ and VPAM ratings are not interchangeable, so the exact rating of any offered insert should be stated separately.
Mission Frontline Take
This is more interesting than a standard dangler because it combines accessible storage and optional lower-abdomen armor in the same footprint.
Without ballistic inserts, it functions as a very usable 1.8-liter admin / utility pouch. Add the appropriate soft armor, and the same space becomes part of the protective system.
The external shock-cord option is also practical for equipment such as a tourniquet that should remain accessible without opening the pouch.
The tradeoff is the same as with any added armor: more coverage means additional weight and bulk. But because the armor is integrated into a pouch you may already want for storage, the system uses the available space efficiently.
For users who want a German-made plate carrier dangler with modular organization and a genuine soft-armor upgrade path, this is a particularly versatile option.
