The AB Kabano Boonie IRR is a lightweight tactical boonie hat developed for users who require effective camouflage, reduced infrared reflectance, and adaptable field functionality.

Its 50/50 NYCO fabric manufactured to MIL-DTL-44436B specifications combines durability, shape retention, low-noise performance, and integrated IRR properties designed to reduce infrared reflectance.

AB's Climate Control Design improves airflow around the head and helps reduce heat buildup during extended wear, while the ergonomic construction keeps the hat comfortable during long periods in the field.

A moldable brim with an integrated wire allows the user to adjust the shape, field of view, and silhouette depending on terrain and equipment.

The integrated Micro MOLLE IRR / 3-channel PALS system, hook-and-loop surfaces, and included IRR camouflage mesh provide multiple options for attaching natural vegetation, identification, camouflage material, or compatible accessories.

The Kabano goes considerably further than a conventional boonie hat.

What stands out to us is the modular camouflage concept. The Micro MOLLE/PALS channels and included camouflage mesh allow you to adapt the hat to the surrounding terrain instead of relying exclusively on the printed camouflage pattern.

The wired brim is another useful detail. Being able to control the shape helps with both visibility and breaking up the recognizable outline of the head.

At only around 3 oz, the Kabano adds very little weight to a field kit while still offering IRR-treated materials, ventilation, attachment options, and compatibility with additional camouflage components.

For users who simply want sun protection, a basic boonie will do the job for less. The Kabano makes sense when camouflage management, modularity, and reduced infrared reflectance are part of the requirement.
