The AB Delta Softshell Jacket is a versatile outer layer designed for changing weather, active use, and everyday wear.

Its windproof and water-resistant softshell construction provides protection against wind, light rain, and changing conditions while remaining breathable and comfortable during movement. The flexible fabric and relaxed straight cut provide unrestricted mobility without the bulk of a traditional insulated jacket.

A high-closing front zipper and adjustable hood provide additional protection when conditions deteriorate, while underarm ventilation allows excess heat to escape during higher-output activity.

With multiple storage options, reinforced elbows, adjustable cuffs, and hook-and-loop panels on the upper arms, the Delta works equally well for duty, range use, outdoor activities, hiking, travel, and everyday wear.

Mission Frontline Take

The Delta Softshell sits in a very useful middle ground between a lightweight fleece and a dedicated waterproof shell.

Compared with a fleece, you gain significantly better protection against wind and light precipitation. Compared with a full rain shell, the softshell construction feels more comfortable, quieter, and more natural during everyday movement.

That's what makes it particularly useful for range days, field work, hiking, vehicle use, travel, and everyday duty when you expect changing weather but don't necessarily need a dedicated hard shell.

We also like the pocket layout. The large chest pockets, arm storage, internal pocket, and rear kangaroo pocket provide considerably more usable storage than most conventional outdoor softshells.

Keep in mind: while the fabric has an 8,000 mm water-resistance rating, we would treat the Delta primarily as a wind- and weather-resistant softshell, not as a replacement for a fully waterproof rain shell during prolonged heavy rain.
