The Lightweight Insulated Cold Weather Pants are designed for cold, wet, and windy conditions where warmth, weather protection, and mobility all matter.

A waterproof ePTFE membrane is combined with DuPont™ Sorona® Aura insulation to provide reliable thermal protection without the bulk of traditional heavy winter pants. The durable nylon shell helps block wind and precipitation while the breathable membrane allows moisture generated during activity to escape.

An IRR-treated outer fabric is designed to reduce infrared reflectance, making the pants particularly suitable for professional and military-oriented use.

Two-way side zippers on both legs allow the pants to be put on or removed quickly over boots and other layers, making them especially practical as an additional cold-weather layer in changing conditions.

Mission Frontline Take

What makes these pants interesting is the combination of weather protection, insulation, and relatively low weight.

At approximately 1.65 lb, they are significantly easier to pack and carry than many traditional heavily insulated cold-weather trousers. The Sorona® insulation provides useful warmth without excessive bulk, while the ePTFE membrane adds protection against wind and wet conditions.

The two-way leg zippers are another feature we especially like. If weather changes quickly, being able to pull an insulated layer on over boots without completely changing your lower-body setup is extremely practical.

The IRR treatment also separates these from conventional civilian winter pants and makes them particularly interesting for military-oriented users.

There is one clear tradeoff: this is a factory-second product. If cosmetic perfection matters to you, this may not be the right choice. If you're primarily interested in function and can accept minor manufacturing imperfections, the value proposition becomes considerably stronger.
