The combination of split leather, GORE-TEX®, and a rugged rubber outsole makes it well suited for field use, outdoor work, training, hiking, wet-weather conditions, and extended time on foot.

What we especially like is that HAIX still builds the boot around long-term use. The fact that it can be resoled matters if you're buying footwear as equipment rather than as a disposable product.

The tradeoff is obvious: at roughly 2.6 lb per pair, this isn't an ultra-light boot. You gain durability, structure, weather protection, and support in exchange for some extra weight.
